Make Pancakes
Makes up to 12
What you will need:
1 egg
100g plain flour
300ml milk
1tbsp vegetable oil (and some more oil for frying)
Pinch of salt
Something to put on your pancakes (maybe sugar and lemon; syrup, chocolate spread or whatever you like)
A sieve
A mixing bowl
A whisk, hand blender or food processer (to mix the batter)
A frying pan
An egg turner (in case you don’t want to ‘flip’ your pancakes into the air)
Some large plates to serve
An adult to help out and make sure you are safe
How to Make:
Sift the flour into the mixing bowl and add the pinch of salt. You might like to make a space in the centre (a well) to put in your egg, oil and milk.
Now mix them all up to a smooth mixture. If it’s not smooth and runny enough, add more milk. If it’s too runny, add a little more flour.
It’s best to chill your pancake mixture for half an hour before frying it, if you have time. When ready, heat some oil in the frying pan and pour in a little of the mixture. Draw it around the pan so it makes a circular pancake covering the bottom of the pan.
Fry until cooked on one side (brown crispy bits on it), then turn or flip over to cook the other side.
When the other side is cooked slide it onto a big plate, add whatever topping you would like, and enjoy!
